It’s meditative,
The waves in my ears,
Floating with the tide,
Water caressing my back, head, and buttocks,
A plump buoyancy present since my days of baby fat.
Old memories swirl inside.
Dad teaching me the basics,
Me, small-eyed and innocent
Still believing in unconditional support.
Now, I float with the power of physics
In waves and pools and lakes.
Eyelids closed and kissed by sunlight,
The waves in my ears
Embraced by the greatness of the waters
Unfettered Sunlight, unfettered life
An active type of meditation
Distant laughter passes me by
The waves are in my ears
A tiny being facing the endless sky
